I didn’t see the final twist coming. The show is so locked in to two sisters protecting their own children that I forgot to ask the bigger question, how did the child die? The story Is replete with twists shaped from lies. I expected the acting to be very good, as it was, although the mood at the beginning of the show was flat as the writers sought to establish Anna Maxwell Martin’s character and relationships. I’m not sure they were particularly successful setting up the submissive/dominant nature of the two women’s relationship early enough in the series but it was a fascinating rollercoaster as the women navigated their children’s narratives within the dynamic of their sibling bond. All in all, the drama and performances made a satisfying watch. I give this series a 7 (intriguing puzzle) out of 10.
