I didn't expect much from this film and while it won't go into the hall of fame, it was really good. Was pure action with a little plot but sometimes simple works. If you're looking for a movie that is essentially one long fight scene and love swords then this is for you.

I found this to be vampy, campy and fun. It was surprising a very enjoyable and entertaining way to kill 90 minutes.

The kind of movie that gets played on provincial buses in countries in South America. You can watch it without the sound up and still follow the plot. Best to consider this movie as really an elaborate video game. The main character basically meets, beats, and levels up in a series of fights with Bosses, each with unique kill points. The Princess is an avatar in a video game, that's what makes the physics work. You aren't watching a movie, it is Twitch with a big budget.

You'd think they killed her dog.

Joey King impresses in this thinly written but enjoyable action pic.

It was ok. I liked the action, and while the plot wasn't complex it was still enjoyable to watch.

Another 90 pound waif that can take out legions of battle hardened warriors because she got ninja training in the Middle Ages. Uh-huh, just put this one up there with the endless gobs of other movies about 90 pound waifs that lay waste to everyone in their path because, reasons. For action, it's an OK movie, but get constantly distracted by the reaction "uh, no way that little girl just did that". Not that girls can't but I've met the girls who can and they are far more jacked than this little noodle armed lady.

A well acted movie with good production, but sadly just a vehicle for Joey King to dip her toe in action, hopefully she won't be swimming.

This movie has no damn right to be this good. So, yeah. Don't expect a story. There isn't any. It's the generic medieval princesses can't be fighters and can't decide who they marry. We've seen it with Brave and dozens of other movies. But, the plot isn't what makes this movie good. There is enough plot and consistency to don't get boring, to bring you through the scenes. To the important parts. Like several dozens really well choreographed fighting scenes. They are soooo good. Neither looking unrealistic nor overblown. And you can see from very few cuts and long scenes that they really put a lot of work into those. This is where the movie shines. It's 90 minutes fighting fantasy of how a young woman can be what she wants, and beats up every single bad guys in amazing style. The ending scene was expected, but still touching, so there's that as well. Solid 9/10 I am really surprised by this movie.

1.50 meter woman beats an army of men. This is where lesbian feminizm comes. I'm not saying a woman cannot be an action hero. I am a huge fan of women action heroes like Ellen Ripley, Sarah Connor, The Bride. The actresses of those movies were believable. This movie doesn't have that kind of talent.

YA fantasy literature has seen a lot of awesome badass princesses in the past decade, with books getting grittier every year. So it’s not surprising Disney wanted to cash in on trend. Joey King is pretty rad in this, with really fun, over-the-top action scenes. However, the story itself is barely cohesive and packs no real emotional punch. A bit of a shame really. It’s just one fight scene after another.

I enjoyed it nice Xena Warrior Princess vibes

I would 10/10 play a videogame based off of this. it was a super light and fun action brawler with a princess kicking ass. I saw a lot of complaints about script and what not but this is similar to many other action movies played by men so not sure what's the big surprise that this genre has a predictable formula.....the acting was okay and you knew how it would end 5 minutes into the movie but again it does its purpose. in my opinion, this is overall a fun movie to watch with not lots of thinking involved .

this is the one of the worst stereotype movie I watched. cringe fest. I'm so surprised to read some people's review. maybe because I've scene so many movies like this. I could tell what will the character is going to say or do even before they do it. so predictable. the only scene I liked that, the princess escaping from army by jumping aross.. that was dope. also Joey king did whatever she could to save this movie.

This was a lot of fun.

**The Princess might not be innovative or unique, but it’s well done and a lot of fun!** While The Princess might not bring anything new to the Die Hard style action genre, well-choreographed fight sequences and a strong, committed lead in Joey King performing almost all of her stunts take this simple plot and elevate it to a solid action flick. The sword fights and martial arts had some inventive moments with fresh new techniques and finishing moves that I hadn’t seen before. The stunt work was almost to the level of John Wick, which was unexpected for a straight-to-streaming film and very appreciated. Even though the movie was very predictable, and I had seen many other films like it before, The Princess is still entertaining and is better than reviews imply. Any action fan that loves the Die Hard, Con Air, Passenger 57 type movies will enjoy The Princess’s medieval, sword fighting, fantasy spin on the genre.
