This is one of the best spanish movies I have ever seen. Also was the first time I remember thinking: the ticket price was totally worth it.

the movie was really nice....with unexpected polt twist....not scary tho....the end was sad and nice....she will take care of all her friends and her baby....the idea of tomas mother to kill 5 childern that by mistake cause her child death and she buried their body in the house was intresting and terrifying. Shortly you think is paranormal with evil ghost story, but at the end it takes a huge turn to be really different and unexpected story... I love it.

I’ve heard a lot of horror fans talk about this film, adding it to their lists of recommendations. I finally got around to watch it, and I can now see why they enjoyed this film so much. It’s not a jump scare or blood gory film, but more a sad and beautiful story that is shown. It’s shot nicely, I loved when the game was being played and the camera would pan back and forth. IYKYK. But yeah… great film

Great movie with a nice story. It is not that scary, it is not supposed to be, but it has its moments of suspense. I liked how the events happened. I don't think it's a unique masterpiece of a story, but it is a good story executed well. Kept me wondering "was going to happen next" throughout the movie. It was worth watching.

I've heard quite a few raves for "The Orphanage". I really liked the great set and wonderful less-is-more atmosphere presented in this film. I always appreciate the ability to tell a scary story without excessive gore. But after watching this twice it doesn't stand up to other recent spooky treats like "The Others" or "The Sixth Sense" or even other Guillermo Del Toro related projects like "The Devil's Backbone". Perhaps I needed more involvement from Carlos (the father) or maybe a better child actor than the boy who played Simon. The movie was certainly slow-moving but that is normally something that I have plenty of patience for. I can recommend "The Orphanage" for it's cinematography but not really on its characters or storytelling.

One of the best horror movies I'#39;ve ever watched. No jump scares, amazing story. Wish Hollywood learns from this how to make a proper horror movie.

Ok, this is not a horror film, but rather a tragic drama with paranormal elements. As a film in itself, it does not have a complex plot, or really original. It is a rather bland story, and the ending has no resolution to the intrigue built up throughout the film. The acting and the characters are also somewhat childish for being adults.
