A high concept thriller that tells the story of Dr. Ephraim Goodweather, the head of the Center for Disease Control Canary Team in New York City. He and his team are called upon to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak with hallmarks of an ancient and evil strain of vampirism. Awful ! I loved the pilot and the first episodes...but then it just slips into incoherence and bad acting. The characters are empty or annoying and sometime both. As the season pass the story just get worse...such a shame I really enjoyed the pilot and had good hopes for this show.

I wish I could say this show is entirely out of character for FX, but after season 3 of American Horror Story.. The Strain feels right at home. Piss-poor acting, awful writing. The tone of the show is nice and the effects are great but that can only ever be the icing on the cake, not the cake itself. After watching 3 episodes it's clear the cake in this instance is made of shit.

There's a world of difference between the season one and two. I was getting really frustrated with the way all the characters were saying and doing dumb things in season one but kept watching 'coz the series was shot really well. The locations, the ambience.. like that gothic rockstar's More

This show got an early 7/10 from me. The start was hella strong but it progressively went downhill faster than that time Neil Gaiman took over American Gods (2017) because Gods forbid a black man offend white people over slavery in America!

6/10 is the best rating I can give to Season 1, because More
