Fun action/scifi movie from the 80'#39;s! Reminds me of the Terminator somehow (industrial soundtrack helps too)
Good blend of genres, it was a fun watch.
*Men in Black* meets *Under the Skin* and a dash of Kyle MacLachlan weirdness. Sounds like a winner but the mix of genres doesn't always stick together. There's good action sequences, a decent sci-fi concept and horror with nice practical effects but ***The Hidden*** doesn't offer enough of any of those, everything is half baked, unsatisfying and forgettable. The villain entity thing was pretty cool though and the score is something else. Didn't like any of the characters. Kinda lost me in the first half but the third act was entertaining. Younger Lin Shaye jumpscare!
Generally speaking, I would classify "The Hidden" as a stylish and entertaining 80s sci-fi thriller with a simple “body snatcher” premise. However, the whole plot is also somewhat repetitive, and there's a twist that's so predictable due to Kyle MacLachlan's (intentionally) wooden acting that you wonder why it's even designed as some sort of surprising turn. At some point, the movie ultimately lost me a bit, but since at least the finale is reasonably good again, I think "The Hidden" is worth a mild recommendation.
A predictable ride that might've felt groundbreaking in 1987 but doesn't hold up today. Kyle McLaughlin and the other guy both phoned it in. Positive ratings buoyed almost entirely by Twin Peaks nerds. Mentally checked-out about 45 minutes in and missed the Danny Trejo cameo entirely. Occasionally awoken by intermittent gunfire – a futile attempt to jolt me back to life.
Solid Horror/action flick. One of the better body-swap movies. The ending is a little strange, but it'#39;s satisfying.
Cine Paco Image 3.25 / 5 and sound 3/5. It is still as good as we remembered it, what counts, how it counts. Appears Danny Trejo 5 seconds and dies after 5 seconds, normal ;-)
Starts off great. Slows down badly. Could have been a classic

_**Ferraris, 80’s rock/metal, Los Angeles and an out-of-control… thing**_ An FBI agent (Kyle MacLachlan) from Seattle teams-up with an LAPD detective (Michael Nouri) to apprehend an unstoppable menace in Los Angeles that seems to switch bodies(?). “The Hidden” (1987) is a kinetic sci-fi action/thriller in the mold of “The Terminator” (1984), but not quite as exceptional. It’s captivating with a kinetic 80’s metal/rock/punk soundtrack featuring bands like Shok Paris, Concrete Blonde and The Truth. But, for me, the flick’s hampered by the one dimensional vibe of the gritty concrete jungle. Voluptuous Claudia Christian stands out on the female front as an exotic dancer who gets caught up in the chase. The movie runs 1 hour, 37 minutes, and was shot Los Angeles. GRADE: B+
