Everybody.. everybody! should watch this film because it'#39;s lovely, and has a great sense of humour, and cats are cool :P
This is Disney from my childhood. Hand painted animation, not that CG stuff. It is one of the first movies I ever saw and even after almost 50 years it still makes me smile and laugh. A timeless classic.
Herrrrrre kitty-kitty-kitty-kitty
Why as this film got such a low rating?
This movie has all the makings of a classic 1. Incredible soundtrack 2. Racist drummer 10/10
“Everybody wants to be a cat!” Disney pumps out yet another mediocre animated children’s film with _The AristoCats_. Derivative of their previous works (especially _Lady and the Tramp_), the plot follows a pampered cat and her three kittens as they try to make their way back home after being dumped in the countryside by a butler who resents them. The characters are pretty fun, yet stick to the standard Disney stereotypes. And of course, there are several entertaining musical numbers. However, the animation is rather poor and the voice work is unimpressive. It’s also a hard sell to route for a crazy cat lady who’s trying to give her vast fortune to her cats, sacrebleu! _The AristoCats_ has some charming moments, but overall it’s a substandard effort from Disney.
A lot cuter than I was expecting from arguably among the most forgotten of Disney's classic catalogue. In a lot of ways I think this is a more refined version of Lady and the Tramp; more likable characters, a bit more of a solid premise even if its nothing special, and an ear wormingly memorable song. Despite having no emotional or nostalgic attachment to this one and going in with low expectations, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't charmed.
Amazing My favorite movie from childhood
A mix between '#39;Lady and the Tramp'#39; and '#39;One Hundred and One Dalmatians'#39; - but with cats. It'#39;s a pleasant little film, though it does have minor issues. Mainly with the animation, which is good with most of the cats but pretty average with the humans; I say most of the cats, as Thomas O'#39;Malley looks weird. Thomas is voiced nicely by Phil Harris, while Eva Gabor comes in to voice Duchess. Those two work well together, as do the trio of Toulouse (Gary Dubin), Marie (Liz English) and Berlioz (Dean Clark). There are a few other decent characters, too. The plot is perfectly watchable, if predictable. Some of the songs are noteworthy also, especially '#34;Ev'#39;rybody Wants to Be a Cat'#34;. '#39;The Aristocats'#39; is worth a watch.

The Songs. that'#39;s it. that'#39;s the comment.
The jazz scene was the best part. Everything else was just ok.
Not the best Disney feature ever made, but its a great way to kill an hour.

When a wealthy Parisian lady summons her lawyer to amend her will, her faithful butler "Edgar" assumes it will all be his. Well, he discovers: maybe it will, but only after her cats have had their day first! Infuriated, he concocts a plan to be rid of the pesky felines once and for all. An overdose of a sleeping draught, a nice long drive and a nice big sack. A bridge over a fast moving river and the job ought to be done? That was the plan, but of course there'd be no film so something had to go wrong and soon "Duchess" is trying to get her youngsters back to their mansion. Luckily, along the way, they encounter the street-smart "Thomas O'Malley" who promises to help them get home. Some fun escapades ensue, the slightest hint of a love story develops and we meet some of the best scat cats this side of the Mississippi. The style of the animation used for this story reminded me a lot of "101 Dalmatians" (1961) with some similarly engaging characterisations. It's at it's best in ensemble mode - the "Ev'rybody Wants to be a Cat" number getting the toes tapping and the denouement with the cats, an horse, a large trunk and a trip to Timbuktu for the loser a fine finale for all (except, perhaps, their next door neighbours). It's good fun, moves along nicely and is perhaps the last of the original style of hand-animated Disney films that I can say I truly enjoyed.
