well...I hope the studio who did the CGI got their fair share. in other aspects...there was an attempt. who casted this actors? it's funny how they have so much individual charisma and yet they lack any sort of chemistry with each other. the story makes no sense from every perspective. most of the characters are insufferable.
It's probably the first good space rom-com.
:heart:x7 This is a plot-hole-infested, cute, sweet, love story. It's worth a watch. How I rate: 1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time 4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this 7-8  = I expect you will like this too 9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!
This film is rated C for Cute :3
This weak sci-fi rom-com is definitely not out of this world. Other than the space setting - which is rarely utilised effectively - this is the kind of movie you have seen a million times before.
Well blah. This started funny until they
meet the captain
, then it just becomes awkward and weird with a couple more laughs. The main two actors are good individually, but together it just doesn't click. The story is discombobulated and doesn't really make sense logically. The also had to force in a lesbian couple for no other reason except to push that, they have no actual part in the story. Overall this is a pass. Could have been good, but then just went downhill about half way through.
A tardigrade on space vacuum would write a better love story
A cute scifi movie. Enjoyed it more than perhaps I should, because despite of some inconsistencies I am a sucker for flicks like these. :face_with_hand_over_mouth:
I didn't like the chemistry between the two main characters. I didn't think they liked each other or would get into a relationship. I agree with the comment that it felt like a TV series converted into a movie.

The logic is a bit messy. Like how did they spend three weeks teaching Walt to be Calvin and yet he doesnât even skim Calvinâs thesis despite reading Sophieâs and Sophie doesnât think it could be important that her âboyfriendâ knows her parents were dead. Also, how is she rich if she grew up next to a toxic dump site. Are Calvinâs parents rich and if so how did they meet. Or, did she get some sort of settlement from her parents wrongful death from pollution either could be interesting but they just let her be rich for the sake of getting her to Mars. I am glad that in the future we discover that crippling anxiety can be cured immediately by dancing. Also, why is it called Moonshot? There had to have been a more clever title. I thought it was cute and I liked the introduction of Zach Braffâs character and would have liked to see more of him and Cole. I think they did too much trying to balance complicated romance narrative and Waltâs personal growth/Charlie and the Chocolate factory storyline. I feel like they could have just simplified some things and cut 20 minutes off the movie and it would have been better. What I think might have happened given Greg Berlantiâs involvement it could have been conceived as a seriesâand episode on Earth, a few on their way to Mars, and a couple more once when they arrivedâallowing the world and relationships to be explored and explained with out having to quickly explain away things to have time for the love story. Iâm disappointed because I feel like the performances were generally good and the concept was interesting but it needed some better script edit or restructuring.

This had surprisingly understated and natural world-building? Not earth-shattering or anything, just better than I anticipated. Odd. I had fun!
