The setup here could have made for some really really funny scenes like the smoothie scene (the one great comedy scene in this movie) but there was WAY too much focus on the black family getting fame/riches and lying about how, and the main girl divided between school and helping dad. Could have been masterpiece in the genre like Liar Liar or Bruce Almighty or How To Build A Better Boy, but it tried to be too serious
As a lover of football, fantasy football, and Paramount+, I felt obligated to check out this film. Side point before I go further - THIS IS ABOUT MADDEN / VIDEO GAMES, NOT FANTASY FOOTBALL. This strikes a nerve for some odd reason. Like they wanted to be cute with the name, but have no idea. Anyways, its straight Nickelodeon cheese. It has cute moments, and some charm that kids and families will appreciate. Unfortunately, the cheese and ridiculous plots make it hard to say its worth watching to the general person. Rating: 1.5/5 - 6/10 - Not Recommended to Everyone
