I knew right from the first scene that I would like "Dominion: Prequel to the Exorcist" even less than "The Beginning". Both films are essentially the same, even if almost all the roles have been recast, except for leading man Stellan Skarsgård. However, the scenes are put together a bit differently, and there are also a few other minor as well as major changes. As a result, "Dominion" starts with the sequence that I liked best in "The"Beginning"—specifically, a flashback to Nazi-occupied Holland. And there's no doubt in my mind that the scene is far more compelling in the 2004 film. Here, it seems drawn out and isn't exactly top-notch in terms of acting either. I would rate many other scenes found in both films similarly. If you have a choice between the two, I think you should rather watch the first version.

Stellan Skarsgard stars in the supernatural horror film _Dominion: Prequel to The Exorcist_. The story follows a disillusioned priest who discovers a buried church at an archaeological dig in Africa, but uncovering the church releases an ancient evil. The performances are fairly decent, but as usual the plot is overly convoluted and parts of it make no sense. There’s also some weak CGI that hurts the otherwise impressive visual aesthetic. However, director Paul Schrader does a pretty good job at creating tension and suspense, as well as a foreboding tone. _Dominion: Prequel to The Exorcist_, while it has its problems, returns to the more grounded, psychological terror of the original.

Dominion is better than The Beginning.

Was this one required or asked for? I believe not. The first Exorcist was brilliant, this is just a try to cash in on the franchise. For hardcore fans only.

Sooooo bad ! Just a waste of time !!

In case anyone is wondering, this is the better one.

Don'#39;t... Just don'#39;t. Good camera and feels expensive production but has the feel of elevator music. It is there but that is it.

Really slow, boring, not intense, lots of bad acting
