Like JOL & FBS one of those rare harem wuxia novel but chinese censorship doesn't allow it to be adapted in full glory. This show is slow paced with some very good CGI and best fights but don't expect ML to be doing any of it ; atleast in Season1 as he is path to claim his old companions swords ... I am kinda bummed that most of time he just watches with a grimm face when people (fodder soilders) dies for his fights ; also for supposedly a smart person he is too stubborn and aloof although that makes it interesting and unique. Zhang Ruoyon portrayal of Xu Fengnian is too arrogant as is for someone who refuse to walk path laid put by his father only to be assisted by various grandmasters to do his fights he speaks too haughtily with them and the dialogue feels like its something between 2 peirs and no an elder.

Although this is harem i don't expect any kinda steamy romance but he does collect a hoarde of ideological admirers thanks his meddling & caring nature with the wits of a smart political player. Among his potential i like Qing Niao best despite her slim chances ;atleast i wish her to be paired with Ning Emei . While Jang Ni reminds me of Lee Hey-ri her funny pouting face and the humor is crucial to make the show less boring and more light hearted but other than that she is a very boring character. Li Chun (Li Su Su from JOL) as Xuanyaun Qingfeng is my second favorite but she also has no potential for love in the story . Nangong Pushe (Snowy Fox) has minor role in Season1 [spoiler] but spoiler in internet say she is the second wife [/spoiler] so i am rooting for next season....

Initial excitement made want to read the novel but 2000+ chapters of it impossible so i will wait for couple of years for Season2 if they ever try to make this possible after JOL Season3 ....
