I started watching firstly the ITV “Victoria” TV series. I absolutely loved it and, by Christmas, a friend gave me the book. Oh! How I fell in love with it! And I just wish Daisy Goodwin would be good to write another “Victoria” book!
Well, everybody knows there was a Queen Victoria. She had the longest reign until Queen Elizabeth II. Her reign was marked by the Industrial Revolution and by other important events. However, with the “Victoria” book and the “Victoria” TV series, we learn other perspectives about her life.
She became Queen with 18 years old and she did not want to get married. By the contrary, she wanted to follow Queen Elizabeth I’s example by being a single Queen. However, that did not turn out to be the reality. She married Prince Albert and had 9 children.
Victoria teaches us a lot with her life. She teaches us to be true to ourselves. She was impetuous, passionate and had a rebel heart. She did not try to change that and she changed her country and History as we know it by not doing anything about herself.
Victoria shows us, women, that we have a voice and we have, each one of us, a gift that we can use in life. She was born to be a Queen and was a marvellous one. We can be marvellous in what we do. We just need to be passionate and dedicated to it.
Finally, Victoria and Albert show us what true love is. It may not be love in first sight. Their's was not. But it was selfless love, dedicated to each other. They were different from one another, as Albert was a bookworm and shy. However, it worked perfectly and is a love story worth telling.
With Queen Victoria, we learn that lives are worth sharing.
