Just finished the first season, haven't touched the second one yet.

It starts off very well, pulled me right in there. I was starving for something well written and this show provided all the breadcrumbs I wanted for the plot. You can tell it is properly set up and detailed, it respects your attention. Proper show, probably on a tight budget were my thoughts during the season.

The fifth episode is actually the payoff/finale. Not on par with my expectations, but decent. Kinda rushed, slight deep there, but I'll take it.

Then there's the sixth episode... what a travesty. Makes no sense. There is a complete lack of repercussions for the protagonists. The main character is also breaking out of character, negates his growth in the last five episodes. Completely feels like a forced episode by the network to serve "modern" ideas, which the show balanced extremely well before that. It shouldn't be in there at all, any sane person can see that. The plot of the fifth should be extended to the sixth, let the climax build up and breathe. Then some parts of the sixth episode could be the last five or ten minutes of the finale.

Overall I very much enjoyed how they handled the first four episodes. The finale/fifth was ok. The sixth was out of place, which left me with a bitter taste for the season and the show in general. My expectations are low for the second season. They gave everything in the first and there's no way they had enough time to write something equally detailed again. I'll give it a try though.

P.S.: We know from the very first minutes of the first episode that he's not a "tourist". Yes, it bothers me.

Season 1 Review (currently on NF):

Criminal thriller series in 8 episodes with a touch of dark comedy and drama about a man Jamie Dornan (of "60 Shades" trilogy) and Danielle Macdonald (as Probationary Constable Helen Chambers in one of the sweetests characters I've ever seen).

The chemistry between the two in this series is amazing and cute, bringing some relief to the tense rhythm of the main story that have many bloody sequences and great wide shoots of the Outback.

The man is driving in the Australian Outback and suddenly is pursued by a truck (terminator style). After being knocked out of the road by the one he lose all memory and enters in a saga to discover his past.

In general lines Dornan character is very good and the series that maintains a thrilling experience till the 5 episode, being a tid bit bit weaker on the last episodes. As a whole, the serie could have ended in the first season that is an all around story.

For this, I gave a 8,0 out of 10,0 score / A-.

Season 2 Review (on NF from 02-28): 6 episodes in Ireland awaiting, but it is in BBC One rn.

I was excited when I saw it was from the same folks that made _Fleabag_. But this one didn't really deliver. The whole of episode 5 makes the same mistake as many films / shows that represent someone tripping on drugs -- the trip lasts too long. And the standoff in the final episode felt pretty contrived, with a deus ex machina that was truly unsatisfying.
