A modernly-divisive look at political history. How cleverly it presents a one-sided view of the truth is actually impressive, but also sad that it can pass as a "documentary" these days. It reminds me of conspiracy theories that Jar-Jar Binks is the Emperor.

I mean the archive footage did make him look like he had no idea what he was talking about as soon as they forced him off script.

@saltervallos How about using your head to examine what was actually said and done? What was twisted? Reagan's actual words? Did they not include people who actively worked with the man? Are you thinking the radical George Will was tapped for his inexperience and zealotry? You're not even trying.

@dogg724 There is little moderation in discussion anymore, and this film didn't make any effort to provide a balanced view. It seems aimed to stir up people who are already strongly opinionated on the topic. It's definitely a Showtime special, not History Channel.

@guido666 I'm curious what you believe to be out of balance...as well as the last time you watched The History Channel.

@dogg724 I thought I was pretty clear about that already. This "documentary" is extremely clever in how one-sided all the information presented is. It must have taken a significant amount of effort, to their credit, to locate and carefully edit together all the worst possible footage, in order to paint a cohesive picture of how great a villain Reagan was. That's why I thought it was an appropriate analogy to compare to the "Jar Jar Binks as the Emperor" theory, because given enough footage you can pretty much support any narrative. So this mini-series really isn't a documentary, it's a fictional drama, but an admirably clever one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ezcP-Ys_voY

@guido666 So your issue isn't that you actually know what it would be balanced by, it's that you don't like information that presents Reagan as negatively as his impact actually was. The best you have is a Jar Jar Binks understanding of the actual history, which you regard as "pretty clear." Okay. Cool.

@saltervallos I'm just supposed to take your word on that I guess. Reagan was literally an actor. Or do you just struggle with two things being true at once? People are stupid, especially republican voters. You're not worth more words.

@dogg724 Well, if you want to make that silly argument, it would have to apply to you too. You actually know what it would be to be balanced, and you do like the information that presents Reagan so negatively coming to light as it previously hasn't? I was using Jar Jar as a deliberately unrelated and apolitical example of how easily it can be done. And to top it off, you've incorrectly assumed my political opinions just because I disagreed with this film series, and you. That's exactly the "modern polarization" problem I'm referring to.
