Damn! Gimple and company found a way to use a defibrillator on a dead horse and create an equine zombie! TWD Universe was DOA a couple of years ago, but, they keep flagellating the corpse, and now, I guess they figure that by throwing some fresh meat.., er, faces, into the meat grinder,..,er,.. mix, they can lure back the fanbase they once had, before the concept, writing, and any semblance of storytelling went the way of month old, unrefrigerated milk.

While it may be fun to see fan favorites such as Terry Cruise, Parker Posey, and Olivia Munn in a different element, outside of their usual comfort zones, as long as the same writers and showrunners are onboard, I'll have to reserve judgement until I've perused a couple of episodes.

Sadly, the premier outing felt a bit pedantic and mundane, and, in spite of having two of my favorite leads, was kind of boring, even during the zombie sequences. Maybe things will improve once they get their sea legs, but, damn, it's not like they haven't had a few years to figure these things out. Perhaps it's just time for Gimple to put his one trick pony down for a nice long (dirt) nap.
