Lots of faces explaining to each other what their trauma is while a half baked robot sniffs out terribly plotted mystery. What if I told you establishing what the mystery is by episode 5 will require reading recap websites? Honestly, it looks like a good show (the color and “film” look) but its poorly written in a specific way. Like an emphasis is placed on the wrong things. For instance, Ive seen this main character dude who is somehow connected to the Rashida Jones character, but he’s the robot, he’s yakuza, he died but he’s alive. How the heck did the makers of this show think anyone would understand what they mean. And theres this serious music on top of crying, overly emotional characters who I keep wondering why are so somber, while this childish annoying robot with a childs voice interacts with them. But like not like a robot, like a manipulative robot talking in a kids voice. Its so awkwardly paced and written.
