I have not seen the 2nd season, so this comment will focus on the 1st. I randomly stumbled upon this series when I first started getting interested in asian dramas. Therefore, this is one of the first chinese dramas I saw. My initial impression wasn't all that good, since the cinematography looks fairly outdated, but after watching several chinese dramas since, I've figured its just how things were done back then. (like 2011 is far away) Despite this, it grabbed my attention enough to watch the 2nd episode and before I knew it, I had bingewatched it all. I usually am not that much of a fan of romance, but the characters were so interesting on their own that I just wanted to know how it'll all end. It did drag out at certain points, but not enough to make me drop it. I truly recommend this drama if you like well developed characters, great acting from most main characters and a mostly believable plot.

If you liked this 1st season as much as me and you decide to watch the korean version, I strongly suggest you forget everything about the characters version in the korean. If not, you'll rip your hear out of frustration.
