Entire Series Review:
The Clone Wars as an entire series feels weird to rate or review because the show evolved and changed as it went on. The first seasons were very kid-friendly and provided some entertainment but beyond that I didn't love them. The middle seasons turned things up a notch and it got pretty great with its storytelling and character work. And the final season was a mixed bag but the final four episodes were perfection in my eyes. Each season seemed to have arcs that were really great and some arcs that just fell flat or weren't very engaging, so overall the show feels like a mixed bag. But when you look at the character arcs for the biggest characters across the entire series, the storytelling was phenomenal. Anakin and Ahsoka are amazing characters in this show and their relationship even more amazing. Emotional moments in the final season hit so much harder having spent all this time with the characters, and that includes the clones. Because we got time to spend with them and they were treated like actual characters, people like Rex and Fives had some of the best emotional scenes I've seen in Star Wars, and Order 66 hits harder than ever. The use of characters like Maul, Obi-Wan, the Chancellor, and more were executed very well throughout the entire series as well. Taking it all together, the series shows us different corners of the galaxy, expands on the lore, introduces us to new enjoyable characters, and strengthens characters we already know. It may be a mixed bag, but it's now one of my favorite pieces of media to come out of the franchise.

7.0/10 -- Good

Perhaps the best entry in the Star Wars franchise after the Original Trilogy which provided a lot of backstory about Clone Troopers, Ashoka Tano (who should have been included in the movies), Count Dooku and how
Darth Sidious A.K.A Chancellor Palpatine actually controller both sides and almost wiped out the Jedi Order
.

The show gets a lot better in the later seasons. There are some episodes that are not necessary to the main story but they give us the time and moment to get attached with characters and some notable clone troopers like Commander Rex, Echo, Fives, Tup. The show fulfils its purpose to depict what happened between Episode II and Episode III and the final season couldn't be better.

Being an animated series it never shies off when coming to the darker elements of the Star Wars universe. With its beautiful graphics, intense action sequences and some high moments, this lived up to its expectations. The good thing that happened in The Clone Wars is this didn't dwell on something that is already shown in the prequel trilogy and it is not centred around a few characters which introduced us to a larger universe. **This is a must-watch for every star wars fan and if you are new to the universe at least watch the prequel trilogy.**

This is my first foray into the realms of animated shows set in the Star Wars universe, having been very ambivalent them as I was expecting them to be an afront to the live action films and shows. I'm currently halfway through Season 1, and have to say that, in general, I've been pleasantly surprised. The plots are mostly pretty good, and the continuing story arc is in line with what you'd expect from having watched the live action stuff. However, there are a few things that really make me want to scythe the heads off the script writers with a lightsaber.

1) Firstly, why in Yoda's name did they feel the need to flog the "I've got a bad feeling about this" line to death? Literally in every episode that I've watched so far, one or more characters has said this line at least once, sometimes multiple times, in situations where, in many cases, a braindead womp rat could have worked out that it's a bad situation (e.g. being shot at by an army of battle droids when all you have to fight them with is a cowardly protocol droid) never mind someone with a functioning brain and/or Jedi insight. That line was amusing, once, in A New Hope (I think) when Han Solo said it, but not on repeat in every single dangerous situation. It's very lazy scripting, and so irritating that, if it carries on until the end of season 1, I won't even bother with the other six because it'll make me want to ram a blaster in my mouth and pull the trigger.

2) The stereotyping and/or behaviour of some of the characters (both good and bad) is, at times, unbelievably stupid or thoughtless, given that they're supposed to be highly trained (and in most cases) experienced individuals; behaviour which seems deliberately contrived to fit the plot without being realistic, but as this animated show is clearly aimed at a younger audience than the live action shows, this doesn't jar(jar) too much.

3) That totally unnecessary news-reporter-style commentary at the start of every episode. It's really cheap and corny, and detracts from the quality of the rest of the episode (points 1 and 2 notwithstanding). Why not just do a simple "last time on Clone Wars" recap before the opening credits roll, like nearly every other TV show on the planet?

4) The banter between the battle droids, and their attitude, is amusing and lends a much-needed lighter tone to the otherwise gloomy proceedings. However, the Geonosians were master engineers and droid builders (they designed the original Death Star) so you have to wonder what they were thinking when building battle droids with unique personalities and emotions, and the ability to wilfully defy orders. Perhaps a deliberate ploy to screw over their customers? Seems reckless and self-defeating to me. Maybe by being self-aware they could more adaptable fighters, but emotions can only ever be a detriment to a killing machine. I'm amazed that they were used so much for these very reasons - although it helped that Grievous was just an augmented battle droid himself.

Please let The Bad Batch be better than this! With such top-notch live action shows, why does Disney allow such sloppy scriptwriting for the animated shows?
