I was thoroughly enthralled by this show. The story was well written and carried out through all the seasons, the action was GREAT (I loved the 300-type style) and the characters were multifaceted and believable. Every episode is packed with events and you'#39;re truly never bored. I wish more people knew about this show - it'#39;s extremely underwatched.

I just binge watched this in a week and it has easily made my top 5 of all time favorite shows. A perfect series in every sense of the word. May Andy rest in peace and always be remembered for his brilliant portrayal of Spartacus. By the end, Ian had also claimed my heart as Spartacus. But Andy will always truly be *the* Spartacus in my eyes.

The first season as well as the prequel season were down right amazing. The new guy that took over for Andy after his passing (Liam McIntyre) was nowhere near as good of a Spartacus, and I feel the show suffered because of it.

Ambitious and daring explicit drama with historic flavor filled with great political manipulations and hot sex scenes to spice up the story. Actors treat the dialogue as if Shakespeare himself has written it and is the highlight of the show and the plot twists are wild. Too much CGI blood cheapen what is pretty good choreographed action and there are way too much posing and over-the-top audience reactions during gladiator battles. The premiere episode was also terrible. There was a feeling that the series tried to put as much gore and sex in the show as humanly possible (and sometimes this takes focus from the story line) which will make many hate it. The loss of the main actor by cancer was a sad thing indeed and it was hard to adapt to a new actor taking over the mantle. The show can be pretty hard to see as fan favorites and villains suddenly killed off when you start to like them. Sadly, the "Vengeance" season has a disappointing story line even if it follow the basic historic fact I guess.
