Sonic The Hedgehog: The Movie is exactly what you expect: A movie about Sonic the Hedgehog. This movie, in my opinion, did a fine job on the animation. The colors are smooth and I love the kookiness of each frame, even when it manages to be serious at points. However, everything else, such as the voice acting and the character development, is dreadful. Martin Burke, Lainie Frasler, and Bill Wise did not manage to capture the true essence of the characters of Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles respectively. The same goes for every other character in this film. The acting is so poorly done that I wish I was the voice director for this film. I would also like to point out that Sara is my least favorite character in the movie. She adds nothing to the story other than being a damsel in distress. While the environments and structure between each world is well-developed, a cliche story and terrible voice acting keep me from giving this any more than a "Meh" score. If you are a Sonic the Hedgehog fan, this movie might be okay if you want to see Sonic being his usual brash and overconfident self. But, as for the rest of film goers out there, this is not worth your time.
