Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles

This was very solid, with the first season being a bit stronger than the second, imo. The MC is cool and written well, he's missing a lot of the timidness shown by standard isekai protagonists. The pacing of the first season was much more enjoyable for me, but as I reflect on the second season it wasn't so bad, it's just that the storylines from the first season were better for me. The revenge aspect built into this story is probably its most appealing. The hero losing himself when triggered in the first season was definitely a special moment, and it was set up brilliantly. Then, the apex of him confronting the source of that trauma in the second season was also spectacular....and animated beautifully. I hope this continues and I might actually pick up the light novels, since I'd like to know how this story concludes without having to wait for it to be animated, that in itself is deserving of a high rating...

Admittedly, this series takes a predictable path of most Isekai. Still the pacing is good and they don't spend a ridiculous amount of time giving speeches about stuff that isn't necessary to drive the story. I like it and definitely hope for more than one season.
