[HBO Max] An empty, pretentious thriller that achieves at least a certain unsettling atmosphere, but imitates rather than resembles the Hollywood crime series with tormented characters, and the staging is surprisingly traditional for a director like Xawery Żuławski. There is laziness in the development of the story and in the construction of a main character who wants to, but cannot, go beyond the typical representation of a policewoman, obsessed (maternal instinct), with the disappearance of a baby.

I don't remember much about season one, just saw that season 2 is on my calendar. I remember i like it and that is why i left it there. Season 2 is very promising. In general it is a good polish cop drama.

Whilst not without its imperfections, The Thaw has enough on offer to keep you coming back.
