> Its not a Masterpeice but every moment was either heart-warming , funny or intense .. a really enjoyable show

PLOT
-------
Miss Hammurabi is not exactly a law drama. It has cases and it is about judges, but it focuses more on the characters than the plot. Those characters are interesting, with rich backgrounds, that usually explain the way they act in the current time of the drama. Through the show, we learn more about them and more about their lives, as they start to develop relationships with one another. In the end, we get friendship, romance, strong office dynamics and a nice conclusion. So, it is inevitable that the performances were good as well.

I had my worries about the Romance , which proved to be correct, this is very innocent and lacking in terms of romance so do not expect any skinship or kisses at all, and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

There are a lot of issues with the writing/story of this show. The biggest problem is that sexual harassment against women in the workplace is attacked as a major issue in Korean society, but at the same time sexual harassment against men in the workplace is treated as completely fine, normal, and is even praised by this drama. The second Female Lead's ( although she i like her and surprised i haven't seen her in 150+ dramas i watched) character feels normalized sexual , suggestive poses, faces and gestures all to seemingly "prove" that the second male lead is "just like all men", and "all men are dogs". When she walks out of the room she is depicted as cool and justified. The Ahjummas constantly chatting up and trying to suggest some advances on both male leads also seemed very inappropriate considering the problems the show is tacking against sexual harassment .

The ending was a little rushed and disappointing though, a lot of things left unanswered regarding Oh Reum's "Oppa" and how she came to know him,
also how he covered up three cases for his family....
CAST
-------

Go Ah Ra , the female lead's character was too emotional and should not have been a judge at all. She is known to portray deep emotions and her talent can be seen in the show but Judges can't be too emotional and prejudiced against the weak and marginalized. Since this show's main lead is here and the remaining cast are supporting her it feels like she taken over the individuality of all other judges by the end of the show. I am NOT a fan of Go Ara, I was happy when L stopped her from calling Oppa  (Black and Reply 1994 torture )

I was a bit prejudiced about L (Kim Myung Soo), since I had just seen him act in any Another Time , so I wasn't sure if his acting would be convincing or good. However, this drama put all my fears to rest; he did a great support role to Go Ah Ra. Although i didn't like after a while he started agreed to all Oreum opinions and loose individuality. L as Im Ba-reun's indifferent distaste for other people narration was so appealing. His uncaring indifference of just dealing with society.

My biggest complaint for this drama is that Sung Dong Il didn't get more screen time. His character was the most entertaining but compared to the other two he has little screentime. His experience in acting really shows as he portrayed his emotions perfectly. Loving smile when presented with his daughters and wife, strict but caring with his co-workers, and angry with the people that abuse their power or forget their roles in the court.

VERDICT
-----------
This drama aimed to tackle many issues in society today and luckily was able to tackle issues in the workplace, civil law and criminal law in one go. Despite the poor and over-the-top-acting of Go Ara, drama is exceptionally good. It was interesting and refreshing to see the Judge's perspective in a court drama instead of the usual lawyer versus prosecutor setup.

> There are many quotes in the show but my favorite one is :

"When wearing this judge's gown you should erase your face but not your mind. I couldn't see it, if I'd tried to see with my heart I could've seen it. " - L
