The most dissappointing K-drama of this year for me.

I was really excited when I'#39;ve read that Ji Chang Wook and Won Jin Ah were going to work together, I wasn'#39;t sure about her cause it was her first time doing comedy but how wonderful and great actress she is, on the other hand I feel like Ji Chang Wook gets attached to his character in '#34;Suspicious Partner'#34;, same vibes, same look, same acting, that was a NO for me. The most unsatisfying about this was the story... the plot was so good but writers played safe and what could'#39;ve done a great melodrama turns out to be a childish comedy with both comedy and drama secenes failing. I'#39;m even upset because with that cast, those characters and the plot they could'#39;ve done a great drama and it was a total waste of time that it worth to watch only if you'#39;re a fan of any of the actors otherwise are plenty of better dramas from this year

-Plot: 8/10 -Acting: 7.5/10 -Directing: 7/10 -Script: 4/10 My Score: 7/10
One of my favourite dramas! The sci-fi elements aren'#39;t super fleshed out but I really enjoyed the conception of the premise of this one. I found this drama compelling and the character'#39;s chemistry was great.

I watched this without expecting too much because of many disappointed people who watched it before me and just like them I still watched it because of Ji Chang Wook and the synopsis didn't sound bad. Soon I was proven right to not expect anything as the beginning was dragging already. We get a lot of insight into the life of the main leads which is not that interesting. Then when the experiment goes all wrong and they wake up 20 years later you might think now it's picking up pace but instead we see overacted (fake) melodrama and comedy. The side characters are annoying, especially Ma Dong Chan's family and the female lead's ex yet they get a lot of screen time which is a waste. The funniest parts were those with Ma Seo Yoon (Ma Dong Chan's niece) or the female lead's brother which became my favorite characters beside the professor's aide. The main couple lacks chemistry in my opinion which was the least thing I could care about. The worst was the draggy story with lots of unnecessary side and clichรฉ plots. I was able to predict the end in detail because it was also clichรฉ. They tried making the end exciting yet it only left a lame, bitter taste. I feel sorry for the cast because I think they can do so much better and I don't blame them, but the script. Have nothing to say about the music as I can't even remember it so it surely wasn't outstanding. For me there's zero rewatch value, as it has more negative aspects than good ones. So to make it short, I would recommend not to bother and go watch something else.

> A wasted opportunity and HUGE Disappointment "Itโ€™s a story about a man and a woman who participated in a project to be frozen for 24 hours". Sounds interesting right? But what killed it for me already is the "only to be awakened 20 years later due to a mysterious scheme." STORY ------- What you get out of this story is a relatively light weight romance, I thought the two leads had great chemistry and there's some mild threat throughout but it's paper thin and generally resolved without too much going on, the threat(s) create the backbone for the start of the story and then serve to advance elements of the romance part of the story, rather than really being much in their own right. >One really interesting question that this drama poses that should cause some debate is about the age of a person who is frozen. If you are 20 when you are frozen, frozen for 20 years and thawed - how old are you? - In a country where age is so important it's no surprise such a question is posed. If you were sunbae when you went in, are you hoobae now? CAST ------ Ji Chang Wook was good as always, nothing too taxing for his first drama outing since returning from the Army but one that lets him show a sensitive side where previously he's perhaps been doing more of the action-type roles. I think he suits action-comedy more than melodrama or rom-coms (Backstreet Rookie) and the only reason i watched this show is I am binge mode re-watching Healer and then some his new releases!!! This drama doesn't show any of his acting attributes which is a bummer. This was not my first drama with Won Jin-Ah, I loved her role in Just Between Lovers as a morbid lover and she has such a unique voice and presence and I'm really interested to see how she delivers different types of characters as she certainly seems to have the range. I'm not sure if I would remember her role from this drama. Chemistry felt forced between the leads. I didn't see the connection. Because they both were stuck in a capsule, all of the sudden they like each other? Yeah right. I felt more sorry for Ha Young because she still loved him all this time and yet Dong Chan changes love because of being part of this project. He made her suffer for no reason. The love relationship between Mi Ran and Dong Chan isn't great either. A lot more bickering between each other from start to finish. VERDICT ----------- It's about as deep as a puddle, but it's light, fun, no stupid breakups (thank the GODs) , cute scenes with a cute couple as they find their way to romance. Mild threat causes some bumps along the way, more so towards the conclusion, leading to a reasonable ending. May be perhaps that is why the curry is bland and there is nothing going on to keep you interested in the end !!! Others problems I had: -
It was never revealed who expose Mi Ran's participation in the frozen human project. We as the viewers had a guess who it was but the rest of the characters never dig deeper into this issue. Why did that random worker girl do it? We'll never know and we'll never see her get punish for it.
- This drama tries too hard to be funny. A lot of scenes that were suppose to be funny weren't funny at all. - The writers trying to develop a second lead between Mi Ran and a student, who's suppose to be 20 years younger than her on top being her BFFs son... Overall, it's a different story situation, being handled pretty poorly. I say look for other dramas unless you really want to watch it because of the cast.
