Into the Badlands

Initially, I thought this was just some martial arts action series, but then a character's eyes became luminous and his fighting skills were briefly 'enhanced' -- I was instantly hooked. I usually fast-forward through fight scenes and gun battles -- not in this show, amazingly choreographed sequences not to be missed. Great story, except there wasn't enough of it :-) If there were only to be 5 episodes, it would've played better for me as a miniseries with plot resolution and a hint of potential continuation. Didn't care for the multi-pronged cliffhanger finale -- I liked the episode, just not they way they ended things. The actor who plays M.K. seemed miscast, I think David Mazouz (Gotham's young Bruce Wayne) would've been perfect in that role. Regardless, still loved the show :-)

I really enjoyed this pilot episode, its great to see more martial arts implemented into TV shows. The story (the pieces we know so far) are intriguing and i can honestly say i was entertained throughout the whole first episode. The colours in this show just pop, lets see if the rest of the season can hold up.
