In the year 2024, the world has collapsed. Grotesque monsters lurk amongst the ruins of Japan, while remaining people scrape together what they can to survive. Kiruko, an odd-job girl in Nakano, accepts a mysterious woman's dying wish to take a boy named Maru to a place called Heaven. Maru is convinced that there will be a boy there who looks exactly like him.

i really don't know why the votes here are so low for the series. i just finished the first episode and thought it was freakin excellent. astounding worldbuilding in the Pilot, which isn't an easy feat to accomplish. i am VERY excited to watch more and i cannot wait for next week

This anime gave me "The Promised Neverland" vibes from the start and I was unsure if I would have liked it, i thought it would be a copy story. Despite anything, it presents a similar concept but it's a lot different. It combine elements from many thriller/horror anime I liked in the past but in a new way. The story is so captivating and enotional that I couldn't help but to watch it until the enst of s. 1 in a few days. The violence and the sexual contents are rooted in the story so well that I would have said it would be missing without it. Thus, IG Production left its mark! The animations are super smooth and cool. I was shocked about the story of the protagonists, a story so deep and dark, really well written. We saw just the surface in season one, I can't wait to see season two!
