Jason Isaacs is a fantastic actor, but other than that this show is trash.
It glorifies the "godlike" work of doctors no matter what they do all the time (given the chance) because we have the best of the best here, while their private lives and career choices are either stereotypical or convoluted and petty af. Everything is done to piss each other off and throw each other under the bus by being overly dramatic at the same time. A calm conversation, with clear, resolute, adult decisions? Wouldn't make for "interesting" TV. But interesting here means more annoying and dumb because no one acts like adults here.

There's no believable backstory about this. How are viewers supposed to be onboard with a father awakening from coma, who wants to get back to work immediately. Without any second thought for his family, rather even verbally abuse them while the family is what his resolve is supposed to be about? Working with his daughter while screwing her over any chance he gets? Wasting millions of money as a prank and getting away with it in a ridicolous, over the top scheme to earn points with a donor/"the board"? It's a freakishly toxic relationship that is painted in a positive way, trying its hardest to make it a lovey-dovey dynamic of a difficult father-daughter dynamic, but failing miserably.
A mother, father and daughter in high places that screams nepotism from the rooftops while the "board" that oversees the hospital these three work in actively chooses to ignore the obvious issues they bring in. Even actively encourage their bullshittery. Mindbogglingly stupid.

While it is a "drama" in a hospital it does try to do things a bit differently than other shows of the same type. Credit where credit is due.
But that and Isaacs performance are the only good things in this.
Watch this, if you like one of the involved actors, but not for the story or anything else. Really not worth it.
