Girls Incarcerated is a genuine and gripping documentary series that provides a close look into the lives of teenage girls within Indiana’s juvenile correctional system. The series offers powerful and deeply personal stories of broken individuals struggling with their past and trying to find hope for the future.

Unfortunately, the series only ran for two seasons, ending during the pandemic. Many of the people featured left a strong impression on me, and I have followed some of them even after the show ended. Tragically, several are now part of Indiana’s adult prison system, some have passed away due to overdoses, and many now have children of their own.

The series highlights destructive behavioral patterns that impact life entirely. A compelling and important show that evokes both thought and emotion. 9/10 rating.
