A warm hearted look at instability and pressure. I'm three episodes in and it's improving with every minute, adding layers and revealing more heartbreak and kindness in equal measure.

majestically acted, perfectly written, criminally canceled. the perfect story at the perfect time still sadly underappreciated.

Uncomfortable & raw. "Enlightened" illustrates our need for connection while trying to stand straight on the balance beam between openness and defensiveness.

and another great show with actual content instead of stereotypes got cancelled ... it's sad to see that HBO seems to care only about the money and not about the artistic value. One would think that they have enough "blockbuster shows" to also make space for at least some more niche shows that may not draw so much viewers but please reviewers and people who are not willing to put the IQ on suspend while watching shows... unfortunately it becomes a bit of a trademark of HBO to cancel shows (rome, deadwood, enlightened) ... why should we at all start to watch a new one?!

Yeah, I mostly felt angry at how bad it was. ;)

If you're still unsure if you should watch the show, the A.V. Club wrote an article to get you to do so :):
Enlightened is TV’s best show right now—and it needs more viewers http://www.avclub.com/articles/enlightened-is-tvs-best-show-right-nowand-it-needs,92934/

This is a show where you are able to feel so many emotions. You feel happy, sad, angry... It's one of those that shows to you how great a simple story can be and how much you can learn just while the show goes on. And when you realize... You're already in love and there's no turning back.

I’m binging Season 1 at the moment. Finding a show that’s binge-worthy is a rare occurrence these days.

What works for this show is the 30 minute episode format. The writers manage to nicely fit in a situation into each episode. A 20 minute or 45 minute episode format would not have been this interesting. There’s a lot of well known actors making cameos, which is another positive.

Sometimes funny, sometimes thought-provoking and kinda sad. Good show. LD is great.

This is heavily underrated. It is probably misunderstood. The characters are brilliant. The Central character is complex. She is a deeply flawed human. It felt a little dry at times.

I think this might be the best written show on TV at the moment. Warm, witty and kind. I like to save them up and just absorb them all at once.
