A good show - and they did a great job not praising Dr Duntsch in the process of telling the story.

Although copycats are less likely than with movies like The texas Chainsaw Massacres or Bowling for Columbine due to the amount of education required to get to the starting point, it is even less likely if you show people like him for the pathetic excuses of human beings they are.

Do you think he meant to do it? Like I struggle with if it’s incompetents or psychopath or drugs. Really enjoyed this series.

Really liked season 1 but I felt like the second season was a huge drop in quality. Just simply not as interesting.

this is an incredible dramatization of a true crime podcast, 100% recommend it. everyone embodies their roles fully, jj was horrifying as duntsch, and christian slater was perhaps at his most delightful that i've seen him in years. it's faithful to the real story, probably in part because the true story is so fucking heinous to begin with. and the directors for each episode were spot on. three insanely talented female directors, yes please forever. jennifer morrison's episodes in particular impressed me so much. and so yong kim's direction in the court room had to be amazing, considering the performances that everyone gave in there.

(that ending line though, tv and film has to stop reminding me that capitalism is hell and we suck at taking care of our citizens, it's not great for my mental health)

@birdcages Ever realized that around the world most countries aren't much into podcasts? Or that weird obsession with true crime podcasts?

It's kinda fascinating that the US are

The true story of Dr. Death turned into fiction that faithfully depicts events. The first part works better, with Doctors Kirby and Harrison, than the second half, directed by So Yong Kim, with the assistant district attorney, that is repetitive and less effective.. It is interesting how it underlines the complicity of the control mechanisms that are ultimately subordinate to economic interests.

Great show that had low ratings here for some odd reason.
It's based on true events bland the story telling is done in compelling ways. I would rather prefered not having the comes and goes of going back and forth in time (as another commentador typed) that seems to be used and abused nowadays, but still it's a solid 9 for me inside it's genre. Give it a shot.

A good story based on true events, too slow for my liking, four or five episodes instead of eight would have been better for the rhythm. And all the jumping back and forth has been somewhat confusing. Joshua Jackson is great, in his role as cold, obsessive and self-centered doctor. Who would have thought that he had it inside all this time !!

the scripted show was very good and the docu-series is heartbreaking.

For me this re-enactment was a bit clumsy. I found the docuseries (https://trakt.tv/shows/dr-death-the-undoctored-story) far more moving and much more informative. Hearing from the real doctors, lawyers and victims made me quite emotional, and angry. Oddly, I think they're both from Peacock.

WOW! i didn't expect it to be so good.Fantastic storytelling, music score, brilliant performances. At the first episodes you may be confused about the back and forth but they are all so masterly combined and explained that it doesn't leave one question unanswered of what you've seen, a scar, a hole on the scrub, a bend car, everything are come together.
Brilliant mini-series.
