These are just my thoughts and I'm not an expert whatsoever

Pros: actors and actresses, photography, scenery, colours.
+ Benedict and Eloise are lovely and their stories are the most interesting at the moment, either because I'm curious about how they'll tell certain situations or because I have no idea where they'll go. (I didn't read the books)
+ In general I liked the characters, I don't _likelike_ all of them, but I like how they're built. They're not the reason I didn't appreciate the show.
+ Sibling's scenes:
Eloise and Benedict smoking, Daphne Anthony and the warm milk, Colin in general, Eloise and sweets...
CONS:
1) Plot: I found it full of clichés, ridiculously predictable and absurd at the same time. If you look to a list of romantic/drama clichés and then you put them in line you have the plot of the series. It's also true that sometimes very predictable plot are very enjoyable because the narration of the facts is compelling. For me, this is not the case. I found episode 4 absurdly ridiculous.
Instead, despite the fact I got it since Ep 5-6, I liked the revelation at the end of the season. Again, I'm not an expert. This is just what I've liked and what I didn't.
2) Absence of disclaimer or tw at the beginning of episode 6
3) Absence of Simon's point of view regarding what happens in episode 6
4) Costumes: I didn't like the costumes at all, they looked modern, but I'm not an expert so instead I advise to watch Karolina Żebrowska's video regarding that department.

@cicer The costumes are actually SPOT ON. I am of British ancestry. Old paintings of my Great great great grand mother and her sisters (one of whom was named Charlotte, by the way) during the Regency period show their Spring/Summer fashions to be very much in line with those shown here. Remember much of our so-called modern fashions are reinventions or modifications of those old styles every 20 to 30 years many times over.
Also, Sorry - but if Simon's point of view were exposed in Episode 6, then there would have been no need for episodes 7 nor 8 ... where his point of view was gradually discovered by Daphne (through her mother's advice to forgive; through his friend Will's advice to do something about his anger; through Lady Danbury's explanation about the letters he had written to his father that had never been opened; but more so through Marina's speech, about her misjudging Sir George (who had died on the battlefield) for not writing her back, saying - " All this time he loved me. I thought him a villain, but he had a perfectly reasonable explanation... and I was wrong!" In that moment Daphne realized that Simon MUST have a perfectly reasonable explanation for his stubborn behavior in not wanting children - saying he was going to separate from her FOR HER OWN GOOD, and she went looking for that reason, when she found his childhood letters to his father who had rejected him due to his imperfection and stammering. All of this made her realize that he had felt once again rejected by her accusing him of tricking her on their honeymoon and closing him out, so she made the first move toward reconciliation, driven by all of her mother's advice, the discovery of the letters and the overwhelming love that she had for him.

English is not my first language, so I'm sorry if I didn't explained myself and if I make some language mistakes, feel free to correct me
@tantetells When I talked about Simon point of view, I was referring to the fact she forced him to finish inside her and then that was brushed off as if forcing him and lying to her were two facts on the same level of gravity. I don't think it would have been brushed off if Simon finished inside her, while she clearly didn't want to, and I don't like this double standards.

I hope I explained myself, have a good day

@cicer I understand your point of view now. Maybe she realized that he was so adamant/stubborn that he would not welcome a simple discussion on the topic, so decided to act first. Remember she told him that "It's no longer a ruse. I must take charge of my life" in an earlier episode, because in beating up Lord Berbrook, he had made matters worse for her. I agree with you though, but sometimes people make impulsive decisions out of love. Remember, he is 6 - 8 years older than her, but less emotionally mature.
