Feels like the future of todays pc culture. If anything '#34;feels'#34; troubling you, pop some happy pills and walk to the nearest safe space. That'#39;s a horrifying thought. Over all, pretty boring.
very watchable, sci-fi that has good cgi + good acting with what so far is a click the next episode to see what happens next story. thumbs up.
Interesting cast so far. The main actress isn'#39;t well known to me but I spotted a few familiar faces. Harry Loyd from Doctor Who (Family of Blood). The stunningly beautiful Kylie Bunbury from Pitch but I first remember her in Twisted. Klaus (Joseph Morgan) from The Originals. Dutch from Killjoys. A weird blonde G.I. Jane.
This show is definitely binge worthy!
The series is seriously good; in between all the sex scenes there is an amazing story. Now I am all for the great sex of the beautiful people - which is actually done very tasteful - but in this case I think a little less graphic might have helped the series pick up more viewers. But the story is truely amazing. It'#39;s striking. It'#39;s relevant. It'#39;s sci-fi and yet realistic. And when you consider the series is (loosely) based on a book from the 1930s; its hard to imagine how much 2020+ it is. I loved the movie Equilibrium, which has a openly very dark side to it, with feelings being not allowed. This series Brave New World has the same basis though its the opposite with obligatory fake happiness. I would say that Brave New World actually perhaps is even more dark... I really enjoyed the story of the series and I totally binged it in just 3 days! There is an ending to the series, though largely open, but still giving just enough closure to accept it as a series finale........ but I do hope that there will be another season afterall.
I'#39;m surprised people find this concept interesting. A lot of nudity, people taking antidepressants and some outsiders are angry so they'#39;re gonna attack the others. IMO it'#39;s even worse than Snowpiercer (2020) which I already dropped. It'#39;d be nice if we had more good scifi than just The Expanse. Though Tales from the Loop was great.
It was ok until the last 3 episodes where the plot went downhill as well as the characters. It is funny that Huxley predicted the dumbed down of art, and they made a dumbed down version of his work. What an irony. It was so rushed I was thinking I had taken a soma pill. The ending was basically a copy and paste of Westworld. I think they should'#39;ve be more faithful to the original story of the book, it would have been a great series. Instead, they simply dumbed down the story, and the character actions in the last couple of episodes happen only for the sake of the plot.
Let’s be honest, it’s not an awful show. But not a great adaptation either. Everything is pretty flat, and the show failed to make me feel real empathy toward any of the characters. Therefore, the show gives you big tons of “soft-porn” to prevent you from falling asleep. So, if you want to see some beautiful CGI cities and lot of titties, that’s a good show. If you expect some kind of real social critique or reflexion about humanity, it’s going to be a disappointment to you.
I loved this show. Honestly wasn’t sure during first episode but it totally hooked me in. I thought the acting was great.
Worth a watch. Some concepts are explored better than others but I think that the overall message at least is updated well enough. On the downside, I'#39;m not sure if that was intended but some parts resemble a version of conservatives'#39; nightmares - not that the mockery is unjustified, but when you put the whole thing together with the fact that **that society is actually very bad,** it gives off propaganda vibes not too far from _intentionally_ bad satire like '#34;God'#39;s Not Dead'#34;, and that'#39;s a bigger problem than any other fault they might have had.
Absolutely loved this! Gutted there’s only one season. Was a rocky start, a bit slow and very weird, but I’m glad I got to episode 2 and then I was hooked. It’s something different, but not a show to watch with parents or probably any older children if you have any, it’s got a lot of sex scenes.
This show is really refreshing. The characters are great, and the interplay between them works brilliantly. I sometimes feel let down by the CGI in sci-fi shows, but they must have had a decent budget, as it looks and feels fantastic. I'#39;m happy to recommend this show. Fingers crossed for a second season.
Even though Peacock is part of the NBC family this is NOT your normal NBC show. It is definitely no family-friendly. As with many shows these days, it seems that the first season is just setting up a longer over-reaching arch. What really sucks tho is when the show gets cancelled just as it is going to get good. The show itself, at least in the first (and only season now) felt more like a little brother clone of HBO'#39;s Westworld. It even used several of the same set locations. I did like the show, and I would have liked to see more but sadly it has been cancelled. How I rate: 1-3  = seriously! don'#39;t waste your time 4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this 7-8  = I expect you will like this too 9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!
