Annoying soundtrack that just won’t shut up throughout the whole show (reminded me of a video game soundtrack) . Last episode is marred by drawn out conclusion and lots of filler slo-mo to meet the time slot. Standout performance by Toby Stephens as the tortured doctor. Barely recognizeable from his current “Lost In Space” role.

Agatha Christie - what mysteries you weave for us! We recently marked her 125 birthday, and still she continues to stump new audiences. This BBC mini-series reprises on of her most famous who-done-its. Good acting, notable cast (gorgeous Aidan Turner -opps - thinking out loud there - sorry about that). Beautifully secluded island location backdrop, ominous soundtrack. Fascinating mystery. I give it a 9 (superb) out of 10. Well scripted, well made, well done! [Mystery, Drame]

Intriguing and suspenseful little mini series. The acting is great (Charles Dance steals the show of course), and it has a simple yet very interesting plot. It really kept me wondering what was going on, with a pretty unexpected ending.

That's just the thing though - the ending was pretty unexpected - almost to the point where it just seemed somewhat random. I mean, I'm not sure how that ending was 100% plausible, and it's not like the show tried to convince us otherwise either. But the show was about suspense and it really delivered there.

I am a big fan of Agatha Christie and I was rather happy about this adaptation. I do not remember the book well enough to comment of true it stayed to ehr story, but it felt true enough. What a joy to have such a wonderful cast.

This is based on the book that made me go from hating to read to loving it. Agatha Christie is a genius, and this was brilliant. The actors were top notch, especially Charles (Wargrave) and Aidan (Lombard). The series? Could have been better, maybe 5 episodes would do it, more backstory, more intelligent dialogues. It's unfortunate that my favorite part of the book (what made me love reading for the first time) could not be adapted to the screen. It involved about 8 of them, sitting at the table, absorbed in their own thoughts, when suddenly in the book someone thinks "I'm going to kill you all", but you do not know who thought it in that sea of thoughts. Of course you could not adapt this to the screen, because you would find through voice alone who the killer was.

Still, it was a great series, further emphasizing that the brilliance of writing of Agatha Christie can't fully be adapted to the screen.

I would love to see a TV adaptation of The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. I think it would surprise a lot of people.

Impeccable in every way.

If you were intrigued enough to read this, it's the best version of what you think it is.

An isolated island. Ten people accused of murder, being picked off one by one. Outstanding turns from Charles Dance and Torchwood's Burn Gorman. I worked it out before the end, but that wasn't a problem. It's nice to be able to do that every now and again.

These murder mysteries houses all end up pretty similar. After all there is only so much variation possible in such a strict scenario. But I still found it fairly enjoyable. Not sure it actually all really adds up once you find out who is the killer though.
For example, how would an old dying man have been able to overpower the servant, the cop or even that religious woman? And how could he have been sure that the last two would shoot each other? They both clearly knew the rhyme, so the fact that they did is pretty stupid too. They also never clarified how he knew that they where all killers. I can imagine his position as a judge might have something to do with it, but it would have been nice if they'd had clarified. And wasn't the service man's wife innocent? As I interpreted it, her only involvement is that she found her husband after the murder and stayed quiet because he hit her.
It was okay.. I wad expecting more than this at the end very disappointed.

Many points not clarified like how the judge knew they was guilty.. Even how he know them all
And sure how he was doing all this alone while being with them.

To whom this palace! And if the onen family wasn't exist so rodger and his wife was serving who!
