The only thing that can have much more than 20 episodes per season is a “telenovela” or soap opera… I don’t know what got Netflix to put its seal on this Caracol production, I guess the latino population, the one used to consume telenovelas, is an important and growing segment of its total consumers.

While Narcos appealed mostly to a wide english speaking audience, an European Spanish speaking audience and US educated Latin American viewers.

I never seen more than a few minutes of a telenovela or soap opera, **and I don’t see myself watching this**, and I don’t understand why it’s at the top of the most watched shows week after week.

Making a few rational rational assumptions about how the show real popularity and how track.tv process data, we must conclude that the implementation of the backbone services that control the integrity, plausibility, authenticity of the data that feed by the different track clients, the api, which is used to update Trakt database services **leaves a lot to be desired**. Playback and other data is being **submitted multiple times** by the same user and getting thru as valid and thus corrupting the overall statistics for the site. **Making then highly unreliable** and since the site’s value added proposal relies on these basic statistics, it’s value tend to dissapear as the underlying data becomes mostly garbage... the poor man consolation is knowing at least that the show with most garbage must be much popular than the one with none, but going further than that is venturing into guessing land as statistics and rankings among shows don’t actually tell the truth as the underlying numbers for each show are full of garbage but its quantity is not known because different clients using the api produce it at different rates.

Is it possible than a TV-Episode was watched 60 times the same day by the same user? In my opinion, it’s impossible but if you check some shows you realize that the number are of that magnitude.

I think it’s safe to assume than 99% of TV Show are only watched once in a period spanning a few years. But Tratk.tv statistics for many trending shows tell us otherwise

It’s pity...
