I was going to write a long report about this series, but I'll just cut to the core. This is a brilliant show.. 11.22.63 centers around James Franco and is executive produced by Stephen King and J.J Abrams based on a book by King. Need I say more? If you're here seeking out this series, I suggest watching it in entirety. If you're expecting it to be a scene-for-scene adaption of the book then I'd recommend not watching at all because that is not how interpretation works. James Franco delivered a heartwarming performance in this beautifully crafted story about history, love and the speculative horrors of revisionism. The whole cast did a pretty good job with costumes, norms and portraying the differences in time, however, Sarah Gadon (Sadie Dunhill) was such a delight on screen. I hope we get to see more of her in other shows. The story arc was tightly knit and well laid out. What struck me the most is the touching ending to a magnificent journey for the central protagonist. Sit back and enjoy a blast to the past with good acting, decent script, and quality production from Hulu.

The book is great. I haven't got access to the show yet but it seems to be a respectful adaptation!

Hopefully it's the start of more Stephen King adaption shows on Hulu and also Netflix. This is definitely better than Under the Dome. With a solid plot and fine acting.

After the first episode it just went down. Clichés on top of each other, too long cuts where nothing happening. The writer creates conflicts with the lack of conversation and it is annoying.
Too bad they made it a love story instead of a nice political conspiracy time travelling thing.
Soo much potential and the whole intresting part how they manage the assassination got done in 5 minutes.
James Franco is good, finally he is doing some serious role, and overall acting is good.

Good idea, great potential, but what you get is a love story wrapped into 60s.
6/10 for me.

What can I say, maybe I am the only one who is out of the box.
This whole JFK discussion has been held too often and I do not find it at all interesting any more.
Watched the first episode out of curiosity and because James Franco, Stephen King and J.J.Abrams are involved.
Well, as I said, it just happened to be very well played and filmed, but the plot is way too annoying and boring.
Lots of TV Series out there, which are way more original and interesting !
Obviously in my humble opinion :)

@chrim3 You're not alone. Took me three tries to get through the first episode because I kept falling asleep. Fell asleep 10-15 minutes into episode two, and gave up on the series. Clearly not for me.

I'll start by saying I never read the book.

The premise was fantastic. The show was well done. The acting was good as well. Sets, everything was well done. I just have one nitpick, the ending was predictable and boring. I wanted more from the finale but was left disappointed.

Worth the watch regardless.

After first episode I had enough. I realize that most Americans are stupid but for goodness sake he is a TEACHER! He should have above average intelligence!
Meanwhile, what is our main character doing?
1. He shaves AFTER going to the past because, after all, he couldn't shave at home in the 21st century.
2. Buys a car that everyone pays attention to.
3. When he pisses off the local criminals by winning an impossible bet, then instead of returning with money to the 21st century (and reset time) he goes to... motel.
4.Moving to 1960 year, he takes with him an iPhone (because surely he'll need one?) and a pocket knife a souvenir of the Vietnam War that hasn't happened yet.

And so on and similar idiocies. I wonder if the book original was also an "idiot".

Not much of a sci-fi/Political thriller more a romance drama, which fine that's okay. But the Kennedy story was the least interesting part for me. Like I still don't get why an English teacher would commit so hard to saving Kennedy.

People said this is a brilliant show, and that the first episode was great... they're wrong.

The fact is:
Each time he goes back, the timeline is reset. So when he (Cooper [Al Templeton]) said he didn't kill Lee Harvey Oswald because he wasn't sure he actually killed Kennedy, it introduces a massive flaw.

If the timeline is reset each time you go back, who cares? Kill him, come back to the present, if Kennedy was still assassinated, you were wrong, go back and everything resets.
That alone ruined this show for me, and I really have no reason to watch any more.
Roughly 22 minutes and 30 seconds into the pilot and the writers show how bad they really are.

@tesomayn Exactly! What happens next also testifies to the low level of intelligence of the screenwriters and (looking at the ratings of the series) of the viewers. The lack of such a basic skill as catching illogic and nonsense is very sad and foreshadows a tragic future for humanity :(<br /> Further with main protagonist is not better at all:<br /> 1. He shaves AFTER going to the past because, after all, he couldn't shave at home in the 21st century.<br /> 2. Buys a car that everyone pays attention to.<br /> 3. When he pisses off the local criminals by winning an impossible bet, then instead of returning with money to the 21st century (and reset time) he goes to... motel.<br /> 4.Moving to 1960, he takes with him an iPhone (because surely he'll need one?) and a pocket knife a souvenir of the Vietnam War that hasn't happened yet.<br /> <br /> And so on and similar idiocies. Disappointing. Only the beginning and the end follow the original book, all the episodes in between have nothing in common other than the Sadie love interest. A lot of repetitive and boring clichéd stuff in the middle episodes with a fair few ridiculous plot holes. Enjoyed the finale though, as it went back to following the book. A full blown Meh for this one. 5/10.
