Melisa Zapata Montoya

Graduated in Communication and Audiovisual Languages ​​from the University of Medellín with an emphasis on film script (2017). Won a scholarship to participate in a Cinefilia Filmmaking Workshop (2013) and another one for a Production and Direction Assistance course (2016) at the ITM. She coordinated the Veinticuadros cinema club between 2013 and 2017 and the group of volunteers for the 3rd Ambulante Documentary Film Festival (2016). With the short film “Menguante”, she won in the New Creators competition of the 57th Cartagena Film Festival (2017), Pantalones Cortos (2018), the EUREKA Festival (2018), and INCINERANTE FEST (2018); and was an official selection in festivals such as Sao Paulo International Short Film Festival (2017), 15° Bogotá Short Film Festival - BOGOSHORTS (2017), The Colombian Film Festival New York (2017), among others. She did her internship at Burning Blue (2017) and later joined the companies Corporación In Vitro Visual and Laboratorios Black Velvet, taking charge of the general production of the Movement and the Bogotá Short Film Festival - BOGOSHORTS from July 2017 to April 2020 She is currently the Digital Coordinator of BOGOSHORTS. During those years, she also coordinated the production of the press conferences of FICCI 58 and 59, as well as the coordination of the photographic and audiovisual coverage of FICCI 59 and the promotional videos of the CINE CREA COLOMBIA campaign (Proimágenes Colombia). She also did the production and logistics of the Pelis por Bogotá initiative, led by the Audiovisual Management from the Bogotá Cinematheque (2019). Was selected as a scriptwriter at the 14th Berlinale Talents Buenos Aires (2019) and BAMMER at the 10th edition of the BAM - Bogotá Audiovisual Market (2019).
