Amir Saharkhiz is an award-winning animation writer, director, producer, and visual effects artist. He was born in Tehran, Iran in 1977 and started his professional career in animation in 1998. He produced and directed his first short animation in 2001 and has since worked on numerous animated projects, ranging from short films, feature films, and TV series. He is the founder and CEO of AXTAAR Animation Studios, an award-winning Tehran based animation studio that specializes in creating original animated content for various platforms and audiences. In addition to his animation work, Amir is also a renowned visual effects artist and supervisor. He has worked on many acclaimed movies, such as the Oscar-winning "A Separation" and has received several awards and nominations for his visual effects work, such as the Fajr Film Festival Crystal Simorgh and the Iranian Cinema House Award. Amir is also an animation university teacher and the president of Iran Animation Guild since 2017 and is a frequent participant in many national and international events, festivals, and workshops as a speaker, jury member, or organizer.
