Aleksandr Yefimovich Zeldovich (Russian: Александр Ефимович Зельдович; born 4 December, 1958; Moscow) is a Russian filmmaker, theater director and screenwriter. One of the cult Russian filmmakers. A curious feature of Zeldovich career is that since 1990, his feature films have been released exactly once of every 10 years, at the beginning of each decade. In 1980, he graduated from the Faculty of Psychology of Moscow State University. The premiere of the film "Target" (2011), also created according to the script in collaboration with Vladimir Sorokin, took place at the Berlin Film Festival (participation in the "Panorama" program). The fourth full-length film "Medea" (2021) was part of the official competition program at Locarno Film Festival.
