Love the genre, love a bunch of the films (more of this time than recent), but this one was absolute shite. Definitely not recommended at all and even less so as an 'introduction' for someone else who maybe hasn't yet seen the actual classics from back then. A million miles from Dawn, Flesh Eaters, Return, or even Night of. At least Planet Terror was MEANT to be comedic!

Owing just as much to the cannibal subgenre as the zombie one, Zombie Holocaust is a gory mishmash of other successful Italian genre films of its time. While not as good as Lucio Fulci's masterpiece Zombie Flesh Eaters, Zombie Holocaust is quite a fun ride non-the-less. Well worth a watch. Mostly because of the gore and insanity, of course, but also because it tries to create its "own" thing. Yes, I know that most of this is copied from something else, but you'll know what I mean when you watch it.

Enjoyable to see this again after all these years, some gruesome moments in it, but the acting made it more of a comedy/horror

Brings back a lot of fun memories…I remember glutting myself back in the 80's on the goriest, most gruesome films I could find in the video stores, and after seeing a trailer for _"Dr. Butcher, M.D."_ (as it was billed in the U.S.) on a different video, I was determined to find it and watch it.
