Wolf Meh Like a pawn shop Halloween mask: common, standard, and doesn't look all that convincing. The surprisingly poor-average special effects do nothing to jump start this reboot that holds no real surprises.

“Wolf Man” delivers an engaging and tragic story that leans into human emotion over traditional horror. The father-daughter dynamic stands out, with Christopher Abbott giving a strong performance, while Julia Garner is promising but not yet a standout draw. The film avoids overused jump-scare tactics, opting for quiet, anxiety-filled tension that complements its immersive visuals and effective use of practical effects. While the dialogue is functional and fitting, it doesn’t leave a lasting impression, and the pacing is very managed. Overall, “Wolf Man” provides a fresh perspective on the werewolf sub-genre, focusing on transformation and its impact on family, even if it’s not destined for long-term recognition.

Wolf Man's biggest problem is innate. It is difficult to make werewolves cool - and this is where the bulk of my criticisms lie. Whannell's changes to mythology are curious but some of his ideas are interesting. I respect the effort, but it ultimately can't overcome the weakness within.

The skeleton of a good movie is here but the paper thin characters and story doesn’t give the audience much to chew on. The cinematography is goregous and the score is also standout. The acting is also good. Julia Garner’s character might be very simple but boy does she know how to act terrified. This is worth a watch and decent but it could of been so much more.

Wait, a good january horror movie? ***Wolf Man*** doesn't reinvent the werewolf genre but it changes just enough of the ingredients to call it a good addition and it's just a fun time! So tense and easily scary especially with the setting, it's so dark and the forest feels unpredictable. The first a More

I really wanted to like this. After The Invisible Man, Leigh Whannell feels like the perfect man to continue the Universal monster movies.

It starts of really well, the opening is strong in suspense. [spoiler]The moment the family crashes down the mountain with their U-Haul is when it loses that More

Leigh Whannell returns to Universal’s classic monster universe with “Wolf Man”, trying to bring back the primal roots of this iconic horror figure. However, unlike his acclaimed “The Invisible Man” (2020), where he successfully reinvented the concept with a modern approach packed with soci More
