There were two things about the narrative that really bothered me. Firstly, the whole explanation of what autism means at the beginning was superfluous in film terms. Mentioning that Jason has Asperger's, ok, but more than that, I find weak. I expect more from a film than that. Especially as situations with Jason are shown later on that make it clear what this means in concrete terms. For me, the film comes across as too enlightening at this point. (I also find the equation of Asperger's with autism, as it was done here, problematic).

Secondly, I was disturbed by the formulaic nature of the film. Most noticeably about 25 minutes before the end. I sat in the cinema and thought to myself, yes, now everything seems good and resolved, Jason and Mirco understand each other; now there has to be another twist, now it has to get dramatic again, the tide has to turn before the actual happy ending, and that's what happened! At this point, the film felt more like a TV film than a movie made for cinema.

I have to emphasise the performance of Jason actor Cecilio Andersen as a big plus point. Outstanding performance.

All I all an okayish film with a good message and emotions.
