We let it go for an hour and it was just mindless chatter of crap that was totally irrelevant with everyone talking over each other like a really bad Woody Allen movie.

The preview made it look like it was funny and interesting, but in reality it was just mindless shit. I kept on waiting for something to happen but nothing actually did... just more and more drivel...and they weren't actually talking about anything of importance.

0/10 for my one hour of misery.

Hipster academics having Seinfeld conversations in a retro fabulous stage play that takes a post-Thunberg twistaroo into existentialism and crisis. Smart aesthetics, precocious kids, family drama. Heavy flavours of New York arthouse, Woody Allen and David Byrne. Early notes of tiresome pretentious satire but a lingering and satisfying aftertaste.

Pretentious but shallow piece of chaos. I hate movies that are artsy for the sake of being artsy. _White Noise_ is worse than bad, it's the kind of bad that thinks it's deep and profound, it feels like provocation for provocation's sake.

I admire it for its creativity and ambition but this is one of those movies that gets off on being weird, which I really dislike. The dialogue and manner of speech was truly awful and distracting. The words play out so contrived, like they were told to perform a table read on set. Noah Baumbach watched _I'm Thinking Of Ending Things_ and thought, _"I can do that"_, and somehow made something even more _~~I Am Very Smart_.

Bless anyone that finishes this movie. Not for me in the slightest. I feel like this is the kind of movie you've gotta be in the right mood to enjoy. I was not in the right mood.

[Netflix] It was said that Don Delillo's novel was impossible to adapt to the cinema and now we know why. At least in the first act, the film achieves an accurate portrayal of the characters, but as its nuances are revealed, the development of the story loses its proper focus and ends in a chaotic third act lacking in personality, even with a certain tendency to be explanatory, contrary to the approach made at the beginning of the film. A reflection on death and destiny that works technically (it's one of Danny Elfman's best recent soundtracks), but fails to find a truly effective tone and narrative.

What was the point? One part of the movie has nothing to do with another.

It's a tonal mess. But I was actually digging the first two acts.
The family dynamic is the highlight. They were all perfectly cast.

This was an odd movie - felt like 4 movie plots, and I didn’t really know what was happening. However! The acting was fantastic, and the dancing scene during credits was my favorite. I have no idea what it had to do with the movie, but I loved it. And so you don’t have to second guess your eyes or IMDb it, yes, that’s André 3000.

By the time you get interested in the story, they bring in a completely new narrative. The segments feel disconnected and it was all over the place. Couldn't get into it at all. Third act was ridiculous. Only segment I liked was the one with the cloud and the family on the road.

There are moments in this movie that are inspired but due to the confusing narrative, this is never as good as it should have been.

If you're up for someone strange cinema with a plethora of utterly weird stills, concepts and hair-splitting uber-academic dialogues and plot twists, while you're not sure what the heck it all is about, this one's for you. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, just as I enjoy absurdist comedy and books.
It's in many parts like a dream on pot. You never know what's really happening or just in your head, while strange things are happening with and around you. And I could certainly see the ties to consumerist modern America, even Covid for some part, and felt very much reminded of academic (over-)thinking and intellectual nonsense.
