Watching this after having seen Napoleon (2023) and it's interesting how many scenes were replicated. Rod's performance is too theatrical for my taste. The best parts are the battle scenes and how they were done in a real way that today would be made with CGI.

Such a great movie. Couldn't have been easy to make. Plenty of action, drama. A day that changed so much in Europe. Another reminder that war is a very bloody and costly business. Feel sorry for the horses See how Ridley Scott deals with the subject. This is always a good movie to learn a little history. Good acting from some great actors. Sadly all gone now.

Weak 9 innit. The sheer scale of this work (15,000 dressed extras!) makes it one of the great Period War films ever.
