Suddenly, people seem to go in a trance and attack Vincent, very violently. After it happens repeatedly he realizes that simply making eye contact starts it. He tries to hide at his father's vacation home.

Original concept, which develops in a interesting way, but it's a bit of a waste that after a while the story switches to mostly focus on the love story, leaving the main idea as more of a background. A more interesting focus would have been the preparing/training to adapt to his situation. Or getting to meet [spoiler]more of the sentinels community[/spoiler].

Some of the good points:
1) [spoiler]meeting another guy like him, and having an online community of people with the same issue[/spoiler]. The fact that it can happen to someone else kinda relieves the pressure of trying to understand why that happens to him and losing time on that.

2) It then expands even more as [spoiler]it becomes a catastrophic society level epidemic[/spoiler]. This is sadly underexploited.

3) But it has another great narrative advantage: as the attacks continue it is inevitable that [spoiler]he ends up killing someone[/spoiler], and thankfully, the story does not engage at all with the consequences of that, which would have been natural but also pretty uninteresting as it is very common in other stories.

The meeting and beginning of story with the girl is weird. They kinda look at each other a lot. So much that one begins to wonder whether she's immune (which could be a good development). But since she still attacks him at some point it's probably that they managed to avoid eye contact all this time. This is something that is really not well shown, not sure whether the idea or the acting is to blame.

Can't say the acting is great in general, but it's not like they are grand scenes where it would have been necessary.

Ending is meh with it [spoiler]just going away after a while and the pretty expected switch where he is the one that start attacking her[/spoiler].

So it could have been a lot better, but the idea is good enough to overlook the execution defects.

Anyway, the whole thing could be solved by just wearing sunglasses, but nobody seems to think of that...
