Feels like an abridged version of the show Dark. I could tell where the plot was going pretty early on, but it was still really well executed. I wasn't the biggest fan of one part of the ending mainly because it kind of missed the mark. Still a good watch for something on streaming.

Beautiful swampy scenery. Interesting plot with good acting and nice score. Tight movie. Can’t think of anything to complain about. I did not understand it all and had to do some reading after the fact to figure it out but that’s my fault. Based on other comments, most people seem to get it first time around.

The script is very well written and interesting, with elements of science fiction, suspense and a touch of horror. The pace of the movie is a little slow at first, in order to create a solid starting point, as well as the dark atmosphere that surrounds the story. The hooks and twists in the development are great, totally mindblowing, and the characters are striking, well constructed and bringing a dramatic tone to the plot

This was an interesting take on the missing family member genre. I thought that Eliza Scanlen was particularly effective in her role, and the story components, while a bit convoluted, came out in just the right amounts to explain what was going on w/out being heavy-handed in its explanation.

10/10. The plot, acting, and cinematography are excellent. It has the vibe of a great movie from the 2000s.

Christopher Nolan level of original. I went in completely blind and I suggest you do. Takes a while to build but the pacing, unravelling and beautiful visuals keep you stuck in. The acting was great too, especially between relationships. I could physically feel the love or shock or pain or discomfort. I wish there was more reaction to certain things and the one thing you expect to happen, doesn't happen and it slightly annoyed me. If that was me I would have no sense of life and collapse, credits roll. It's a great movie for anyone looking for something tense, mysterious, and emotional. I mean the score, sequences, and story had my mind twitching with thoughts.

Fun movie. Not super thrilled about the ending,
I thought the "dad" Paris should have survived in the future just to have a better full circle resolution
, but I guess it made stuff for them "less complicated" in some ways so I'm okay-ish with how it turned out though.

What a great movie! Unlike the others I had no clue what was going on and as the movie progressed I was able to understand things I had seen that did not make sense at first. I had tears in my eyes at the end of the film... just wow... I loved it so much!

The writer must have watched the series "Dark" on Netflix. We have a very similar plot here, only a bit simplified to fit it into 1:40 h. ;)

This film is so good... and sad. What a surprise. I had hoped that everything would work out, but it has the close it needed. It's tragic and didn't pull any punches. This is a smart and grounded film, despite dealing with a fantastic situation.

Unfortunately, several people spend their lives touched by grief, all tied together by a series of interlocking mysteries. There are opportunities for the truth to be revealed, but they're always missed, sometimes by seconds. The mysteries are solved, but there's no happy ending.

While I still had questions when the credits began to roll, I was satisfied. Hopefully, at least, those remaining will be able to move on.

Aside: If I understood everything correctly, the primary protagonist has an interesting connection to both parents. That is, unless her younger sister was from her stepfather's prior marriage. Typing of the sister, one of the lingering questions I have is why didn't she say anything to anyone? All of the pieces of the puzzle were there. I do wish it had a happier ending. How things unfolded make it that much sadder. All of the actors brought their A game.

A lot made more sense after seeing M. Night Shyamalan's name as a producer in the credits.

Someone loved Dark and decided to make a movie out of it just to save the time of 3 season of time loop madness. Brillaint. Whatever residual of Dark is anyway going to be a masterpiece. So, Stiles from Teen Wolf is now on a quest to join the rest of the pack through a time traveling lake which only works when it's "dry af". I will say it's kinda sus.
Jokes aside, a must watch.

I watched it because it's had Dylan in it. And the movie was good and made me wonder why Paris and Ellie didn't stumble upon each other, but in the end, all made sense and no loose end
