I like to think of _Vampire in Brooklyn_ as a remake of _Blacula_ (1972) - which is alluded to. Sometimes uneven, this has a fair balance of horror, and comedy. Now, that it not to say it's overtly violent, in fact, it's pretty tame. While we have huge names like Bassett, and Murphy in the lead roles, my favorite cast member was Kadeem Hardison as our "ghoul" - come on, he was Renfield. You know you're doing a great job when you can steal the show from Eddie freaking Murphy. I don't think I'd recommend this to horror fans, specifically. However, if you want to see Murphy in a horror comedy, totally check it out. "Evil is good. Ass is good. If you can get yourself a piece of evil ass... whoa!"

Nothing in this movie works and to top it off there was a death on set. Disaster at all levels. RIP Sonja Davis

6/10 Better than I remember And I found myself more entertained than I thought I would be. I was chuckling all the way through. I've seen Worse Much, much Worse.
