I walked into this movie with very little expectations. I didn't really know what to expect and I walked out of it being pleasantly surprised.

Very strong performances and chemistry by Daisy Edgar Jones and Glenn Powell. This movie is probably more like a 7 or a 7.5, but I rated it an 8, partly because of those two aformentioned performances, but also because I was just in Oklahoma and I loved it, so I think there's some recency bias there.

I thought some of the CGI in this movie looked slightly fake. Not really a good thing for a Tornado movie. You would expect a movie like this to have top tier CGI. I think that the fact that Tornadoes are grey and brown and have very difficult color palettes to work with made this movie a little bit messy and difficult to look at at times.

I was not a huge fan of Anthony Ramos, the "beta" love interest in the movie. Didn't love his character. I understand why he was there, it was a bit of a love triangle, but he just seemed like a very jealous character and unlikeable.

The plot line with the corrupt investor guy was a cheesy. It was never fully explored and it just served as a way to put a wedge between Glenn Powell and Anthony Ramos. Daisy just did some research onto this corrupt investor and the plot line was never fully explored and we got no closure on that piece. So that was a bit of a weird and useless addition.

I liked the guy yelling "Twins!!! We've got Twins!!" I wish they didn't put that in the trailer as it's a great line with excellent delivery.

I really enjoyed some of the sets in this movie. It looked like they filmed this on real sets, like real towns that have been destroyed by the tornadoes. I also like how they paid homage to storm chasers where after you've gotten your footage of the storm or collected your data on the storm, you go back and you help the community right away. I like that piece.

Overall, the best part about this movie was the push-pull relationship and chemistry between Glenn Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones. The banter was really good throughout the course of the movie and it continued up until the final scene and I thought that was very well done. I also really like the scene where Kate goes back home and home to Oklahoma is playing in the background. That was a good montage, oddly moving, despite the absurdity of the solver iodide, cloud microphysics and just the general tornado stopping contraption (and yes - I suspended my disbelief - I get its a movie).

Overall, I would recommend seeing this film. Really good summer box office hit.
