Tumbledown

Like a Hallmark movie, but a bit better. The ending put it down a few notches for me, Sudeikis [spoiler]plays a real ass throughout the story, and until the end I kept hoping for him to get kicked to the curb for good. His character is obnoxious, selfish, and insensitive until the very last moment, yet somehow the film pretends that he somehow redeemed himself[/spoiler]. Hall's character, on the other hand, is very well written, and Hall herself does a heck of a job acting her out believably. Without having checked, I assume this is based on a book, because movies rarely have characters this deep. I guess it's a bit strange to say this about what is essentially a romance flick, but I think it could've been a lot better if the romance plot had been removed entirely. The rest would've been more than enough on its own, and is the stronger part. At the heart is a great story about love, loss, grief, family, life, death, and moving on. It also has some fantastic scenery and great set design.

Well, a nice and bitter romance. I liked.
