It's not really my kind of movie, but it's good. The subject matter might be a bit heavy for some. Think of it like this: It's a simple and understated portrayal of a young girl battling a terminal illness and her mother's journey with her, a struggle between life and death. Sometimes it makes you question, "Is dying better than living?" It's not really my cup of tea, genre-wise. I got a little bored watching it, but it's not a bad film. It's a bit hard to grasp, but the message it conveys is beautiful. It's an average movie. Kudos to the filmmakers, and enjoy the show!

Tuesday (2024) - ❤x8 Death comes in the form of a giant Maccaw - what an interesting concept. Tuesday shows death some kindness and he responds in kind. Mom, however was another story and nearly causes the
world to implode
. I die tonight. I die tonight. I die tonight - really got me. You've never seen Dreyfus like this before. How I rate: 1-3 ❤ = seriously! don't waste your time 4-6 ❤ = you may or may not enjoy this 7-8 ❤ = I expect you will like this too 9-10 ❤ = movies and TV shows I really love!

Straddles the line between SNL skit and genuinely sentimental, Tuesday swings for the fences with all its ideas and only some of them make it over the line. Saved in large part by it's heartfelt, but bordering on cliché, finale speech, there is a lot here to take away if you can see past some of the huge tonal shifts between scenes and the almost goofy vehicle for delivery that is Death in the shape of a Macaw that speaks like Venom. Just typing that out solidifies the wackiness of the delivery, but I know some will connect with its very real, very human subcontext. Not for me, but will certainly find its audience in those who can swallow (heh) the silliness and see through to the emotional core of this oh-so-A24 movie.

In all do honesty I would have never watched this movie. I would have scanned right past it and never thought twice about it. I'm glad I did even though it was really sad. So on TikTok there's this thing where people pull clips from movies and then they talk over the clip saying oh you should see this movie so good even though clearly they've never watched it because they can't even tell you what the movie is. In the few moments where they shut up and you could watch little clips of it it seemed interesting but I have a thing for parrots. That's all it took for me to want to watch this. I'm not going to lie though The idea of death being a big huge macaw and it's big huge beak freaks me the hell out. Anyway make sure you watch with lots of tissues.

Fables often make for intriguing storytelling and engaging cinematic experiences. And such is the case for the debut feature from writer-director Daina Oniunas-Pusic, a whimsical yet profound tale about the acceptance of death (or, more precisely, the ability to move beyond that and learn how to mak More
