An accidental death, and the lies around it getting out of hand. Nothing crazy original, but well done, good rhythm in the events escalating the situation ([spoiler]losing the ring, then the boat guy, then Sandy being a witness[/spoiler]) and convincing acting from Carlson. The boat guy ain't bad either. The kid is ok too. Clean ending too, though it could have gone the darker way. Not clear whether it's a ghost or madness story. Most of the time, Tom is the only one seeing the ghost and its manifestations, so he could be going crazy. However, what happens to the [spoiler]wedding dress[/spoiler] seems real, and the blind woman can hear the ghost in the lighthouse. The effects are so simple and limited it's cute.

Entertaining 60s drama film with little ghost story filled with some good atmosphere and inventive low-budget effects. It's one of those so bad it's good film, I don't think it ever tries to be good. Levitating ghost, disembodied hand, floating head, footsteps in the sand, they're all silly but fun. The story is pretty simple, about an affair goes wrong before the wedding and the man starts to feel guilt and remorse, but the charistmatic performance from Richard Carlson elevates this film! The performance of child actress Susan Gordon was also notable.
