I love a good slow-burn horror/thriller/drama, but this one was almost too slow. While I appreciated the aesthetics and the overall atmosphere, I wasn’t sure what this will be. And then it happened—it was horrifying. Not what I expected, but definitely something that hits hard. It felt disturbingly real, which makes sense given the cast. I wouldn’t necessarily watch it again, but I had a fine time with it.

Needed a bit more fire and brimstone to really work, and a closer examination of the faith preaching highlighted in the film. Not a bad movie though, but it could have been better.

Moved too slow, wasn'#39;t terrible and the acting was fine but didn'#39;t really lead much of anywhere and was pretty disappointing in the end. In some movies people describe a traumatic event in their past in a 2-3 minute scene, and this felt like the origin story for said traumatic event. Not unwatchable, just really dull.

This feels like one of those christian TV-movies but with a lot bigger budget. It isn'#39;t really exciting, there isn'#39;t much going on but it didn'#39;t bore me despite the bland story. And the story is bland, it'#39;s ripped out of reality... nothing supernatural, no action, no explosions, no mustach twirling villains and not really any heavyanded religious clichés. Walton Goggins reprises the role of a less bombastic preacher he practiced in Justified and Alice Englert is a welcome silent breeze throughout the movie.

This is more of a movie about a love triangle than a religious cult. Most of the characters were dull and the story is slow.
